I seem to be on a Brave drawing kick… I blame the hair.

WIP.  I’ve been doing a lot of digital lately and I really wanted to just doing some pencil work. (Taken with Instagram)

Just finished a mini hair tutorial,in which I draw and ramble a bit. This is the finished drawing. Enjoy.

There is something I find so therapeutic about drawing.  Whenever I’m upset or my thoughts or overwhelming me I know to start drawing.  It doesn’t matter what I’m drawing, just the familiarity of the action and the process of creating helps soothe me.  It’s a beautiful thing to know that even if the whole world was against me I would always have it.  I think we of the artistic minds are the luckiest in the world to have such a gift.

That said I’ve been doing quite a bit of self reflection this week and this is what I’ve ended up doing with that. I might end up using this to do a tutorial on drawing hair.  What do you guys think?

Just a quick sketch to help keep me loose.

In May I’m going to be doing an art program for teens at the library.  I originally was supposed to do a whole series of short classes, but someone sort of usurped & ruined my original plans.   Thus the series of classes has turned into my doing one class on character creation.  As a result I’ve been working on creating new characters and making some character sheets.  Here is one of them.
